Camping la Yole A well-run site, set in a woodland glade close to safe, sandy beaches. Vendée Visit the Océanile water theme park and the Sealand aquarium; both a 45 minute drive from the site at Ile de Noirmoutier. A few minutes drive will take you to the sandy beach at Sion-sur-l’Océan where children will adore exploring the rocky coves and rock pools. Camping les Biches Camping les Biches is rather special. It offers emplacements scattered amidst fragrant pine woodland - a haven in the centre of this lively and popular coastline. As one of our most social and active sites in the height of the summer, it is ideal for teenagers.

There are excellent sports facilities – tennis, table-tennis and volleyball – as well as live bands, discos and karaoke (all free, six nights a week). For you, there are two good tennis courts and a fantastic pool complex including an indoor pool, outdoor pool (with new waterslides in 2010) and a jacuzzi. Here you can relax on the terrace, or have a coffee at the bar while the children whizz down the waterslides. Younger children will also enjoy making new friends at the excellent playground or playing a round or two at the mini-golf. Camping les Biches Camping les Biches lies a mile inland from St Hilaire-de-Riez and three miles north of the village of St Gilles, both offer a choice of bars, restaurants and shops. A three mile drive will take you to the clean and sandy beach at Sion-sur-l’Océan where children will adore exploring the rocky coves and rock pools. Nantes 51mls Camping les Biches A lively and social campsite - ideal for families with teenagers. Camping les Biches Challans (15mls) is the capital of the Marais region and is the most famous for duck breeding. During high season, there is a traditional market and fair held every Thursday. The beautiful Château d’Apremont dates from the XIII century and was built on a rocky promontory overlooking the valley of the river La Vie, is well worth a visit. Camping les Biches The safari park of Planète Sauvage, between Nantes and Pornic, is a fantastic day out for children. The park has over 2000 animals from five continents at its ‘Piste Safari’ and the Marine Centre has spectacular dolphin and seal shows. For a faster pace take to battle with a game of paintball in St Jean-de-Monts. Camping les Biches A Canvas favourite – lots of activities and within easy reach of the beach Camping les Amiaux Camping les Amiaux is a popular campsite on the vibrant Vendée coastline, close to St Jean-de-Monts. The campsite, set within a cool pine forest, is large, spacious and well-established, divided by a road into two parts and connected by an underpass.

The emplacements are roomy with mature tree cover providing welcome shade to most. Families with young children will adore this site as it has been designed especially with them in mind. There are three pools (one indoor), five great waterslides, three play areas and plenty of room in which to run around. In the evening many guests migrate to the rustic charm of the warm and friendly bar and restaurant to enjoy the family entertainment, while the children are happily making friends at the disco. Camping les Amiaux A pleasant walk along a woodland path takes you to the broad and sandy Daviere Plage, the closest beach to site. The Grand Plage in St Jean-de-Monts (2.5mls) is also popular. Cycle paths through the forests lead you from site to St Jean-de-Monts which offers many shops, bars and restaurants. Camping les Amiaux Roscoff 232, Cherbourg 245, Calais 421 mls. Camping les Amiaux The pretty village of Sallertaine (10mls), overlooking the Marais Breton, is the perfect spot for browsing arts and crafts shops. For a more active afternoon, hire a canoe and explore the surrounding canals. Visit the unspoilt beaches and castle on Ile de Noirmoutier, a long narrow island accessible by bridge, or travel along the impressive causeway, the Passage du Gois. Camping les Amiaux Festival Midi, Century and Millennium with decking. Camping les Amiaux La Salle Panoramique in Notre Dame-de-Monts (5.5mls) is a water tower, which stands 70m above sea level. It provides visitors with stunning panoramic sea and land views. Futuroscope, the creative moving images theme park, is three miles north of Poitiers, a two and a half hour drive from site. Camping les Amiaux A fun family site with great pools, just a short walk from the beach. Camping Acapulco Camping Acapulco is a well-maintained and modern site, in a wonderful location close to many long sandy beaches. The facilities on site are superb and include a landscaped pool complex, which offers five waterslides with their own splash pool, a children’s pool and a swimming pool. A new jacuzzi pool opened in 2010.

Overlooking the complex is the bright and attractive bar area, housed in a white washed, terracotta tiled building - typical of the Vendée. Relax here with a refreshing drink, whilst the children splash around in the water. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment including discos, bingo and karaoke. Children will love playing at the well-equipped play area or in the large games room with pool table and computer games. Camping Acapulco The long, sandy beach of Plage des Mouettes is just 650 yards from site. There are shops, restaurants, bars, cafés, mini-golf and discos at Merlin Plage, a short walk from site. Camping Acapulco St Malo 167, Roscoff 253, Cherbourg 254, Calais 419 mls. Nantes 57mls Camping Acapulco Near to sandy beaches, with plenty to keep the whole family amused. Camping Acapulco St Jean-de-Monts (4mls) provides a host of activities with good watersports facilities, horse riding, tennis and golf. Its sandy beach is perfect for children with plenty of alternatives to building sandcastles - there are bouncy castles, trampolines and children’s clubs here. The ancient town of Fontenay-Le-Comte (80mls) is the former capital of the Vendée. Here you can spend a day strolling around and admiring the half-timbered and stone houses. Horse-drawn carriage tours are also available. Camping Acapulco Classic (2 bed), Select (3 bed) with decking and Select Plus (3 bed) with decking. Camping Acapulco The Sealand aquarium at Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile (26mls), with its marvellous exhibit of sealions in the semi open air pool, makes a good outing. Visit Le Puy du Fou, a one and a half hour drive from the site, for a spectacular re-enactment of the history of the Vendée and watch the incredible fireworks and fountain display at night.
