With Canvas you can enjoy complete flexibility –
you are free to choose the travel options that suit you best.
Take your own car
Taking your own car gives you optimum flexibility. You can start your
journey when you want and can pack whatever you like - from favourite
toys and games for the children to tasty picnics for when you stop en
route.
Flexible travel options
Most of our customers decide to self-drive and cross the Channel, but
the best option will depend on where and when you decide to holiday.
So
whether you’re new to Canvas, or you’re a seasoned traveller,
we’re here to help you plan your journey just the way you want
it.
Ferry or Motorail
Choose a short sea Channel crossing for speed (ferry or Eurotunnel),
or take a longer, cruise-style ferry crossing overnight before enjoying
a leisurely drive to your chosen site. Alternatively,
you can load your car onto the Motorail at Calais and arrive refreshed
at your destination the following morning.
Fly-drive
Choosing to fly-drive brings the south of France, Spain, Italy and Croatia
within easy reach. As most of the low cost airlines operate routes to
airports close to our resorts, you can be onsite within a matter of
hours. If you decide to fly-drive we can organise competively priced
car hire for you (all we ask is that you book your own flights). To
save on the amount to pack, you can take advantage of our linen
hire service.
Travelling from Ireland or Scotland
Travelling from Ireland or Scotland is easier than you may imagine.
You can either sail direct from Ireland to France or you can travel
landbridge via mainland UK. Landbridge is cheaper and
more flexible, whilst sailing direct will mean less driving. If you
are travelling from Scotland you can drive to the Channel ports or take
advantage of the popular Rosyth - Zeebrugge route.
