Camping in Provence

Picture a truly diverse landscape with rolling hills, olive groves and the relaxing scent of lavender – this is Provence. Get ready for a relaxed way of life – slip into a slower pace, kick back, and relax with a chilled glass of local rosé wine.

Provence is a lovely corner of France, and its beauty has inspired some of world’s most famous artists including Monet, Van Gogh and Cezanne. The region is blessed with almost year round sunshine, meaning that you are almost guaranteed fabulous summer weather for your camping holiday.

Foodies will be seriously impressed with the variety of fresh fruit and vegetables on offer in shops and local markets, and let’s not forget the abundance of fresh seafood from the Côte d’Azur. It is easy to see why the Mediterranean diet is considered the best in the world!

Les Gorges du Verdon
Located in a national park, Les Gorges de Verdon is one of the most beautiful river paths in the world. The meandering river offers spectacular views, a variety of activities along the way, and flows through the emerald-green Ste-Croix Lake. Here you can hire boats and pedalos or simply sit back and take in the wonderful views.

If you are looking for a bit of ‘city chic’ Aix-en-Provence is easily accessible by car and makes a great day trip. Parisians come here to chill in the many outdoor cafes and stroll through the tree-lined streets. You will find many inviting squares and more fountains than you thought ever possible in a town!

If you are arriving by plane then you will most likely arrive at Marseille-Provence airport. Marseille is France’s second biggest city and is a throbbing metropolis of art, culture, history and more. It is a great option if you are looking for the buzz of a busy city during your holiday. Historically this is a port town and life revolves around the busy Vieux Port where you will see many boats arriving with their catch of the day.

Famous for the Pont d’Avignion and Palace des Papes, Avignon is a tourist hot spot, and a must see while on your camping holiday in Provence. The bustling city offers a lively street entertainment throughout the summer months – the Place de l’Horlage is the centre-point from which to explore.
