Cascades du Hérrison
These spectacular waterfalls can be found just 15km from Clairvaux. Watch the falls from the carpark or follow the path through the forest to admire the waterfall in its full glory. You will be pleased to know there are refreshments available when you reach the bottom of the falls.

This large bird sanctuary near Villars-les-Dombs is host to more than 400 species of bird - including some very rare ones. The main attraction of this sanctuary is the fact that it has no borders, the birds fly without restraint around the sanctuary and visitors are allowed to wander around the network of trails and streams freely. The natural beauty of the park combined with the huge variety of bird life makes this sanctuary a worthwhile place to visit.

This animal and theme park contains over 1000 different species and is one of the most important parks in Europe for this reason. Once inside the park all of the activities are free. Parc du Chien Polaire This park is dedicated to the polar dog. A team of researchers live and work with these amazing dogs, studying them and their social groups and also training them as proper working dogs. Today there are over 45 dogs, constituting one of the biggest packs in the world. This is very informative and if you love dogs it is and absolute must!

The Grottes des Moidons lie in the heart of the Jurassien forest, have over 1,000,000 stalactites and are considered to be amongst some of the most beautiful caves in France. 9. Saline-les-Bains
The Saline-des-Bains salt works have been processing salt for over 1000 years, they closed in 1962, allowing the amazing building to become open to visitors. See the huge underground galleries from the middle ages and the salt-water hydraulic pumping system housed within these galleries. Brine is still pumped from a 246 metre deep rock-salt layer and transported to the village's spa.
10. L'Archeodrome de Bourgogne
Spanning the history of mankind from pre-historic to the year 1000, this is a fascinating insight into what life would have been like all those years ago. After being given an audio-visual tour of the region you will then travel back in time with the Chronoscope to man's earliest steps and then experience the tunnel of evolution.
