Things to do in Venice and the Adriatic

Venice – made up of 118 tiny islands, separated by a labyrinth of canals. The views of St Marks square as you approach by water taxi is unforgettable.

Treviso – a small and pleasant city which has historical importance as a Roman centre. Wander around the warren of lanes, many of which lead to the river and canal.

Aqualandia – this fantastic waterpark has something for all the family from the very frightening Spacemaker – the highest water slide in Europe - to the gentle crazy rivers.

Punte Verde – this is a privately-run zoological garden, and is home to a variety of different animals. Children will love the conservation and environment workshops.

Burano & Murano – visit the Venetian islands where Burano is best known for it's lace making and it’s brightly coloured houses and Murano for glass making.

Lido di Jesolo – this a lively popular seaside town with one of the longest and best equipped beaches in the area. 

Getting there

Short sea crossing
From Calais it is 880 miles to Venice and 885 miles to Caorle.

By air
There are many low-cost airlines operating routes into Italy. Fly to Venice Marco Polo airport and it is around a 30 mile drive to get to the campsites in Venice. Alternatively fly to Treviso airport which is 45 miles from the Venice campsites. To get to the Caorle campsites fly to either Treviso (40 miles) or Venice Marco Polo airport (25 miles).
