Activities for all the family

Our FamilyExtra activities are designed to involve and inspire the whole family – from toddlers to teens and even Mum and Dad. The whole family can join in, or Mum and Dad can relax while the children are off having fun – it's up to you.

Join the Canvas Glee Club

If you have enthusiasm for all things musical, take part in the Canvas Glee Club. Participants will be encouraged to choose from singing, acting, dancing or showcasing a hidden talent. At the start of the week, performers will be given a sound system, CDs and split into groups to practice before putting on a show at the end of the week to appointed judges.

Try ‘skip-hip-hopping’ with Canvas

Learn new craze Skip Hop at FamilyExtra this summer. Our new Skip Hop sessions are just one part of a range of dynamic and creative sessions introduced for 2010, including BMX Challenge and Radio DJ. FamilyExtra also includes popular favourites such as Tatty Bumpkin yoga for toddlers, Movie Maker, Merlin’s Magical Experience, Waterwalkerz and Aeroball, a combination of volleyball and trampolining.

Skip Hop
Used by Madonna on her latest tour and in the recent CBBC series ‘Jump Nation’, Skip Hop combines street dance, hip-hop and skipping to funky tunes. We’ll show you the ropes, from basic skipping to more complicated dance moves. Great fun guaranteed. 

BMX Challenge
Improve your bike skills by joining our BMX challenge sessions. Working as pairs, you'll learn a range of BMX moves from the cone slalom to the see saw. 

Movie Maker
With awards season in full swing and the Oscar’s on the horizon, discover a hidden talent at our Movie Maker sessions. Learn film techniques and how to use special effects to create a short film, music video or TV show. You'll also get a DVD of your masterpiece to show friends and family when you get home.

Radio Production
This is your chance to prove you’re a star in the making. Using our cutting edge recording technology, you’ll be able to create your own chat show and play your favourite songs, broadcasting to your friends. We’ll even give you a copy of your show to take home with you!
