How do I get there?

We have fully flexible travel options. You can drive and take the ferry, or fly-drive to the campsite of your choice. Drive direct to your resort or stop en route at one of our campsites or a hotel. See our Travel Options page for details »

How long can I stay for?

Your holiday can be for any duration between 3 and 21 nights.

What departure days do you offer?

A Canvas tailor-made holiday is totally flexible. You can start and end your holiday on any day of the week. Some sites do have restrictions on arrival dates – please check the campsites page on the website or call us on 0845 268 0827.

Can I stay at more than one campsite?

You can visit as many campsites as you like. If you would like to have a multi-centre holiday, please contact our reservations team on 0845 268 0827.

Can I break my journey with an overnight stop?

Yes, if you are travelling to the south of France or beyond, we recommend that you stay overnight at a campsite. We offer overnight stop facilities at 20 sites which are located around Europe. An overnight stay in a tent for the whole family costs as little as £16 per night, while a mobile costs from £25.

What type of accommodation can I book?

We have range of fully-equipped accommodation to suit every party size and budget. Our Maxi tent is enormous, sleeps up to a family of six, has fully sprung beds, four burner gas cooker, a fridge and electric lighting. Our mobile homes range from the two bedroom Classic up to the 36' x 12' Deluxe with its three bedrooms, two shower rooms, dishwasher and flat screen monitor with DVD player. See our Accommodation pages for full details »

Can I stay in more than one type of accommodation on my holiday?

Yes – please call our reservations team on 0845 268 0827 with your requirements and they will calculate the price for you.

Can we take our own camping equipment?

Canvas provides everything you need - tent or mobile home accommodation on a campsite of your choice. We do not rent campsite pitches on their own.

Can I choose an emplacement?

If you notify us at the time of booking that you would like adjacent accommodation or have another special request, we will advise our couriers on site. Whilst we always try to meet your requests we cannot guarantee to do so. Adjacent units are not available at many of our sites.

What ferry routes do you offer?

We offer many different ferry routes from companies such as P&O, Brittany Ferries and Condor. A full list of the crossings can be found on our Travel Options page.

Can you book flights for me?

We cannot book flights for you, but we can offer advice on routes closest to the campsites. See our Fly-Drive page for more information or call 0845 268 0827.

Can I make my own travel arrangements?

Yes, if you prefer to book your own ferry or travel by air, all you have to do is tell us when you call to book. For UK customers, £40 will be deducted from your holiday price.

Can we take a second car?

If you are taking two cars we charge £100 for the second car plus any ferry route supplements. There may be some restrictions about parking two cars on a campsite pitch, ie. the second car may have to be parked in a car park especially in high season - please check with your reservations advisor.

Can we take a roof rack/box on our car?

You must tell us at the time of booking if you are planning to take a roof-rack, roof box, bike, or windsurfer as these can take your vehicle over the standard height limit for Channel crossings. There is limited space for vehicles which exceed standard height limits and additional charges apply.

Can we take bikes on the back of the car?

As with roof-racks, you must advise us of your plans when you book. Additional charges apply and you may be refused entry to the ferry if, for example, a bike carrier is not included on your booking.

Can we travel out with one ferry company and back with another?

No. You must use the same company for both outward and inward sailings, but routes can be mixed.

Booking your holiday

How do I book a holiday?

Booking is simple. We can either do everything for you over the phone or you can search and book online. Our reservations team know the campsites well and can advise you from first hand experience. Once you have chosen your campsite, we can book a ferry crossing for you and give you a detailed costing. If you have a credit or debit card you can book over the phone.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

To confirm your holiday booking, we require a deposit as per current advertised rate (see our Special Offers page for details). If you require a direct sailing to France with Irish Ferries or Brittany Irish ferries, an additional £100 deposit is payable.

When will my booking be confirmed?

Your confirmation invoice will be sent to you within a week of us receiving your deposit. You will receive written confirmation of your campsite and ferry bookings, followed by your confirmation invoice. If your chosen ferry crossing is not yet bookable we will send you an acknowledgement, then as soon as your ferry crossing is booked you will receive your confirmation invoice which will include your final holiday cost.

When is the balance of my holiday due?

Payment of the balance of your holiday is due 10 weeks before departure. You can pay your balance online or by calling 0845 268 0827. Please note credit card payments attract a charge of up to 2% for each payment made to recover the credit card company’s charges to us.

Do I need travel insurance?

All holidaymakers must be insured. We offer competitively priced insurance packages. Payment for your insurance premium is due at the time of booking. If you choose not to take our insurance policy, we will require full details of the alternative cover that you have in place when you make your final balance payment.

When will I receive my tickets?

You will receive your booking confirmation and itinerary via email once your booking has been confirmed, as well as ferry vouchers if applicable. You will also receive a copy of these documents in the post two to three weeks before departure, along with any theme park tickets you have purchased. If you'd like to get started with planning your route and find our more about your chosen campsite, you can download your Holiday and Campsite Guides.
