Germany
Trier – Germany’s oldest town boasts
some fine Roman remains, including the Porta Nigra, a fortified gate
built in the 2nd Century. Visit the huge cathedral, which is one of
the oldest in Germany.
Europa Park – a huge leisure and adventure
park,
situated in the grounds of a real Black Forest castle.
There are dare devil rollercoasters, as well as a superb
range of shows that will appeal to all age ranges.
Freiburg – the capital of the Black Forest is an attractive city
dominated by the beautiful Gothic cathedral. If you have a
good head for heights, climb to the top of the spire for a
fabulous view of the city and surrounding hills.
Luxembourg
Luxembourg City – is spectacularly located on the
banks of two rivers with a fascinating historical centre.
Explore the Grand Ducal Palace, which has been a royal
residence since the 19th century with a guided tour from
the tourist office.
Vianden – one of the most famous beauty spots
in the Grand Duchy, surrounded by ramparts and overlooked by a spectacular castle.
Take a chairlift high above the town for a stunning view over the
valley.
Esch-sur-Sūre – a small market town magnificently situated amidst wooded hills and almost
completely surrounded by the river Sūre. The ruins of a once mighty castle dominate the town.
