This is a lush green land of gently undulating countryside with rich vineyards interspersed with charming towns and magnificent châteaux. There is something for everyone here – from wine tasting to cycling by the river, or a family day out at a theme park.

Futuroscope – a futuristic theme park with over 30 different audiovisual shows – see the T-Rex brought to life in a spectacular 3D show and join the Race for Atlantis. As night falls, marvel at the spectacular light and water performance set around the lake.

Tours – a lively town with a cosmopolitan feel. There is a lovely old quarter, with half-timbered houses and a maze of winding streets to explore, before heading to the superb shopping centre.

Château de Chenonceau – a beautiful château, renowned for its formal gardens and the long gallery, housed in the stunning bridge that spans the river Cher. Hire a canoe and take a trip under its arches.

Le Mans 24 Hour Race – the gruelling 24 hour race that tests the skills of drivers and the performance of their cars. Our campsites in the Loire are the closest to the race – you too can be there, following every hour of the race to see who will triumph.

Amboise – a delightful town on the banks of the Loire, nestled under a fortified châteaux, one of the first royal residences to be built in the region.

Château de Chambord – the largest and most extravagant of the Loire châteaux. Climb to the roof terrace for an expansive view over the forest, before enjoying a walk and picnic in the grounds.
