Picardy
Nausicaä – is an interesting aquarium in Boulogne, which aims to raise
awareness of the sea with thousands of species of marine life on display.
Le Touquet – a lively and elegant Victorian seaside resort with a
cosmopolitan atmosphere and six miles of sandy beaches. Enjoy a
fun day out at nearby Aqualud Waterpark.
Amiens – the capital of Picardy is famous for its Gothic
cathedral, listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
The medieval town centre is steeped in history, with
a canal network around the market gardens.
Normandy
D-Day Landing Beaches – visit the beaches along
the Côte de Nacre, which include Omaha, Juno & Sword,
as well as the many memorials in the area.
Bayeux – is the home of the celebrated tapestry, a 70m long piece of
linen, stitched in 1067 depicting the events of the Norman Conquest,
leading up to and including the Battle of Hastings.
Honfleur – a picturesque seaside town, full of historical and artistic
interest. Wander around the cobbled streets or take one of the daily
cruises along the river for a spectacular view of the Pont de Normandie.
