Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain buzzes
with life and attracts thousands of visitors every year. It is a beautiful
city, especially from an architectural point of view. For a real taste of
Barcelona take a stroll down Las Ramblas, admiring the street entertainers
and maybe
doing a bit of shopping too, then explore the maze of small streets in the
Gothic quarter. Be sure to visit Gaudí's Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada
Familia, his unfinished masterpiece and the symbol of the city. Barcelona

It has an amazing medieval town centre and many beautiful Gothic and Romanesque buildings which have survived repeated attacks and sieges down the centuries. Take time to wander up the narrow streets towards the cathedral, stop in at a café, have a look in a few of the tiny shops and then when you get to the top of the hill be prepared for an awesome sight…the baroque cathedral itself. Gerona is a beautiful city, especially if you appreciate architecture.

Figueres is home to the Teatre-Museu Dalí, the only museum in Europe dedicated solely to the work of Salvador Dalí. Dalí was born in Figueres in 1904 and lived his life a few miles away in Cadaques. When Dalí returned to Figueres in 1961 he spent years converting the former municipal theatre and turning it into a showcase for his work. The museum is fascinating, Dalí's unique style is evident both inside and outside the building and you will never cease to be amazed by his bizarre, surreal art.
