Now that we’ve introduced you to our Life range of campsites, it’s time to tell you all about Selection. Whether you’re new to camping or a Canvas regular, you’ll love our range of Selection campsites. There’s something for everyone with over 90 campsites to choose from in 8 countries!
The Selection range features new campsites alongside our some classic Canvas favourites. If you’ve holidayed with Canvas before, you’ll see some familiar faces in the line-up. The new additions have been carefully chosen by us and meet all the standards you’d expect from a Canvas holiday.
There’s plenty of guidance and support available from our English-speaking couriers, who are available 24/7 to ease your stay. If you’re travelling as a family then make the most of our two free family activity programmes, Zero2Five and FamilyExtra, which are available on some of our Selection campsites. They cater for all the family with activities ranging from fast and furious water sports to arts and crafts.
So with all this choice, where do you start? We’ve picked a few highlights from our new Selection campsites to make choosing a little easier:
Camping Domaine de Chaussy: The Ardèche valley is the perfect location for active holidaymakers looking for their next adventure. Whether you’re kayaking down the Ardèche River or discovering the area by quad-bike there are plenty of opportunities to get your adrenaline running. But don’t worry if that’s not quite your pace, there are plenty of great walking routes for making the most of the great outdoors and getting back in touch with nature. The region is known for its archaeological and historical sites where you can explore caves and gorges. Domaine de Chaussy is the ideal base for an Ardèche adventure – that is if you can pull the family away from the pool! There are also plenty of onsite activities and sports (such as volleyball and football) as well as site-run children’s clubs.
Camping Tenuta Primero: Tenuta Primero is the perfect summer escape, located in a fresh pine forest on the Island of Grado. While the island may be quite remote (about an hour and a half from Venice), there is so much to do on the site itself. The campsite is considered one of the main attractions of the island with its own marina and 18-hole golf course. Suitable for families of all ages, there is direct access to the beach with water sports and entertainment including sports competitions and live performances. Explore the town of Grado for a wander around its historic centre or take a trip to its thermal water park with water slides for the kids and hydro massage for the parents. Visit the birds and animals on a horseback, bike or boat tour of the Foce dell’Isonzo Regional Nature Reserve just a 15 minute drive from the campsite.
Camping le Palavas: Camping le Palavas is in a truly unique location with an almost island feel making it the perfect base for a sunny beach holiday. Situated on barrier land that protects sheltered ponds from the Mediterranean, you’ll be completely surrounded by water, great for cooling down from the sunshine. If you’re a fan of water sports this is the campsite for you, with direct access to the beach you can choose from the thrill of jet-skiing or take it easy on a pedalo. The site itself has a great pool complex with water slides guaranteed to keep the kids happy. During peak times this campsite comes to life with discos and nightly entertainment.
Camping Cala Llevado: Surrounded by the lush greenery of the pine forest, you’ll feel at home in the heart of the Spanish countryside at Camping Cala Llevado. Take in the glorious view of the surrounding mountains from one side, and the sparkling sea from the other, from the comfort of your sun lounger, while the kids splash about in the pool. There is direct access to not one but four beaches (although keep an eye out, out one of them is nudist) so days can be spent relaxing in the sun or trying out some snorkeling. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails around the site and towards the Cadiretes Massif. For a bit of culture, visit the medieval fishing village of Tossa del Mar.
Don’t forget your favourite Canvas campsites can be found in the Selection range, including:
Camping la Croix du Vieux Pont: It’s easy to see why la Croix du Vieux Pont is one of our most popular campsites. Set in the tranquil woodland, on the riverside, near the grounds of a château sits this large family-friendly campsite. It is one of the campsites that features our free children’s clubs Zero2Five and FamilyExtra. Take it easy with a spot of fishing on the lakeside beach, or get involved in some thrilling water sports. You’re guaranteed not to hear the dreaded words ‘I’m bored’ come from anyone’s mouths with superb facilities including bowling, laser quest and a soft play area. The relaxed atmosphere of the site will be to wind down after a day of Disney madness, with Disneyland Paris just over an hour’s drive from the campsite.
Camping Marina di Venezia: Another one of our most popular campsites, it is all about top notch entertainment at Marina di Venezia. Water lovers will love this campsite, with no less than six swimming pools! Plus there’s direct access to a sandy beach where the whole family can have a game of volleyball. The kids will love a trip to Aquasplash, a fun-filled water park just an hour’s drive away. In high season a bus service runs between the campsite and the harbour, where you can catch the waterbus to Venice. At night this campsite truly comes to life, with live shows, music and games and a fantastic fireworks display held monthly on the beach.
