With warm days and cooler evenings, October is the perfect time to head off on a camping holiday. The hustle and bustle of the summer holidays may be long gone and the campsites will have quietened down, but don’t worry plenty are still open for business. Whether you’re looking for sun or fun this October, we’ve got plenty of campsites for you.
Catch some sun in October at…
Bella Italia (closes 28/10/17)
Bella Italia is a bustling and lively site on the edge of Lake Garda which calms down in the month of October. This means you won’t be sharing the excellent lagoon-style pool and pool-side bar with as many people. You can spend a cool evening admiring the views over the lake with a glass of fine Italian wine.
If Bella Italia doesn’t quite suit you, there is also the choice of Campeggio del Garda (closes 04/11/17) and Camping Butterfly (closes 28/10/17) in the Lake Garda region.
Alternatively, camping Fabulous is open until 28 October 2017 and is the ideal camping base for a city break to Rome.
Holiday Marina (closes 28/10/17)
The South of France is the ideal location for a post-summer holiday. The weather is still generally quite sunny but much milder. Holiday Marina is just 900m from the beach, which won’t be nearly as busy as it is in the height of summer. In October, this campsite is the ideal base for exploring the cosmopolitan cities of the Cote D’Azur from St Tropez all the way to Monaco without all the usual crowds of tourists.
Gavina (closes 28/10/17)
The average temperature in Spain in October is still a decent 20 degrees Celsius, which let’s face it, is a vast improvement over the UK. Camping Gavina has a new lagoon-style pool and sits right on the beach, making it a great spot to enjoy the sun. Barcelona is just 48 miles away and much more enjoyable to explore in the milder months.
Have some fun in October at…
Croix du Vieux Pont (closes 28/10/17)
La Croix du Vieux Pont has long been one of our favourite campsites, so of course it stays open well into October. This month tends to be less busy than normal so there won’t be any fighting over the campsite’s excellent facilities including bowling and laser quest. A trip to Disneyland Paris is a must as it is just over an hour’s drive from the campsite.
Landal Warsberg (closes 28/10/17)
If the weather takes a dip in October, Camping Landal Warsberg set in the heart of the Saar countryside, has you covered. Who needs the sunny weather to enjoy the pool when there’s an indoor lagoon-style pool and jacuzzi? The chairlift ride is the best way to take in the area’s fantastic countryside views.
If Saarburg doesn’t interest you, how about the Black Forest region of Germany? Camping Kinzigtal is also open until 28 October 2017.
Duinrell (closes 28/10/17)
Duinrell is a family favourite because of its exceptional onsite facilities and this is no different in October. Hidden in the lush woodland is this superb campsite with both an onsite theme park and water park. The local area is excellent for exploring as the nearby village of Wassenaar has great bus links.
To top it all off we’ve currently got 40% off post-summer holidays on selected campsites, check out this great deal here.
