This year Canvas Holidays is proud to have been nominated for three British Travel Awards and we thought who best to tell you why to vote for us than a pair of our lovely couriers? Dale and Joe from Pra’delle Torri tell us what they love most about working for Canvas…
We are Dale and Joe working over in beautiful Italy on the Venetian strip at Camping Pra’delle Torri for 2017.
We’ve had the pleasure of working for Canvas Holidays since 2010 and within that time we have worked in some beautiful areas that Canvas operates in. From cycling a typical Dutch bike on Camping Duinrell in Holland to visiting the top of the Eiffel tower in Paris close to Camping La Croix du View Pont. This year we have even managed a gondola ride in beautiful Venice.
We both love working for Canvas Holidays as we feel that they are true to their word and offer a friendly family feel. We all have the same goal, to ensure that all customers are greeted warmly and settle well into their campsite to make great holiday memories.
We both feel Canvas encourages you to grow and take on different challenges to gain your full potential. We have taken on many different job roles during our time with Canvas from onsite couriers, site managers and even up to the Area manager role that has given us a wider perspective on what we can do to meet the customers’ expectations and hopefully surpass this.
This year we are working on a site in Venice, Camping Pra’delle Torri. It is a lovely site that offers great facilities and an abundance of restaurants all serving great local produce. We like to call it the “3P’S ” PIZZA, PASTA AND PROSECCO.
All our customers love the massive pool complex which is located right next to the beach! So for families who like the pool and the beach, this is a winner! We are close to Venice but there’s also a little town called Caorle down the road which lots of our customers are unaware of upon arrival. This little fishing port offers great food and ice cream within the same setting that you would find over in Venice. Steeps of history and culture it’s definitely worth the 20 minute cycle or just jump on the bus from the campsite.
Running a small site is just as important as a manager role within a team, we take full ownership and love the fact that we get to meet customers from all over Europe! Over the course of the year we have noticed that Canvas are offering holidays to more and more European countries which has to be our highlight of the 2017 season. We get to speak to people from all over Europe and engage in different languages and cultures. Although we are not fluent in all these languages we always learn the basics. It’s great to wish a Dutch customer “fijne vakantie” (happy holidays) or a German family “Gute Heimreise” (safe journey home) little touches to make the customer feel welcome.
We both see ourselves working for Canvas Holidays for as long as they will have us! Why would we want to do anything else? We get to meet new people every day, be part of so many families’ holidays, visit some amazing locations, days off at the beach, the weather, the lifestyle, the list can go on for ages…
We’re hoping 2018 will be the year we get the opportunity to work in Spain. Hope to see you then!
Dale and Joe.
