Around the Costa da Caparica camping park
The 24-km long Costa da Caparica coastline extends over the entire western part of the Setúbal Peninsula. The seaside resort and tourist facilities of Costa da Caparica lies in the north, while the southern part consists of wild natural beaches you can get to by car or the little train (in the summer). On the southernmost part of the coastline, you will find the Arriba Fóssil da Costa nature reserve, a listed, protected massif with splendid walks. And the waves of Costa da Caparica are perfect for a spot of surfing.
During your stay at Costa da Caparica, be sure to include a trip to Lisbon, Sesimbra or Setúbal. Famous for its yellow trams and 25 de Abril Bridge, Lisbon has incredible historical and modern districts, a lively night life and good food worthy of the city. Sesimbra is a seaside resort with amazing beaches, excellent restaurants and an exciting nightlife. Last but not least, Setubal is an industrial city with a charming old district, an impressive fort and some of the best seafood restaurants in Portugal.
