Set amidst rolling heathland and looking out to spectacular sea views, Camping le Châtelet is a small but perfectly formed site that has been carefully developed to make the most of its stunning setting. Terraced grassy emplacements look across the bay to the ancient hilltop Fort-la-Latte.
The small pool is quite the sun-trap, surrounded by hedges and fragrant flowers. Here, you can relax on the terrace soaking up the peaceful surroundings. At the site’s centre is a picturesque small lake, a tranquil oasis for relaxing, or watching the local wildlife. The spacious bar, offering excellent views across the bay, is the venue for weekly entertainment in high season, including live music and quizzes.
There is a Canvas Holidays courier on site. There are no Wednesday arrivals.
The site is set on a stretch of the Emerald Coast, a ten minute walk from the coastal town of St Cast. The resort offers many restaurants and bars, with a few shops to roam around. A steep path and steps from site lead 300 yards down to Plage de la Pissotte which is ideal for swimming and rock pooling.
The Cap Fréhel lighthouse is a magnet for children and the walk from St Cast should only take a few hours. A visit to St Malo, and its Grand Aquarium to watch the sharks’ meal times, provides an interesting day out. The Zoo de la Bourbansais at Pleugueneuc outside Dinan (19mls) is home to some wonderful rare animals.
