In the heart of unspoilt nature, 4* Campsite Domaine du Cros d’Auzon is nestled on the banks of the Ardèche River, near the picturesque village of Saint-Martin d’Ardèche. A relaxing destination in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, the resort is the ideal getaway for families who want to get back in touch with nature and all the possibilities of a holiday in the outdoors.
The aquatic area of the campsite comprises of three pools, of which one is covered and heated in the low season months of April, May and September. Another of the three pools is a paddling area for young swimmers, who will also love the selection of waterslides and the splash play park.
With a typically French offering of activities, the resort features sports including petanque, tennis, football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis, as well as playground for children located nearby the accommodation. As the resort perches on the banks of the river Ardèche, campers can enjoy aquatic activities such as wading, fishing and swimming, as well as canoeing trips offered by a third-party provider.
Both entertaining and educational, the Children’s Club encourages 4-12 year olds to enrol so they can enjoy creative workshops, performing variety shows, sports tournaments and much more. The campsite is located a 10 minute drive away from the beautiful village of Vogüé, one of France’s prettiest villages that is overlooked by a majestic medieval castle. Slightly further afield but still worth a visit is historic Saint-Martin d’Ardèche, a small village founded in the 11th century around a Benedictine convent.
For nature lovers, a trip to the Ardèche Nature reserve and the Ardèche Gorges is a must. The Gorges boast an impressive canyon with cliffs up to 900ft high. You can also plan a stop at the Chauvet-Pont d’Arc cave on your way to appreciate the fascinating prehistoric art that can be found within.
