Camping le Bois de Valmarie

Camping le Bois de Valmarie is a small and relaxed campsite, just 100 yards from a beautiful beach, and home to an amazing pool complex. The terraced emplacements rise up the hillside towards the pool, from where there are outstanding views over the bay of Argelès.

Unwind with a refreshing drink from the bar, while the children have hours of fun whizzing down the water slides in the lagoon-style pools linked by waterfalls. At the bottom of the site you will find the superb restaurant, surrounded by colourful flower beds, where you can sample a delicious fresh fish dish from the extensive menu. After dinner, why not relax on the bar terrace with a refreshing glass of local wine.

Local area

A small selection of restaurants, bars and shops can be found in the nearby village of Racou, while the attractive port of Argelès is around a 20 minute walk from site. Here you will find a superb selection of restaurants. The site is 100 yards from the spacious beach at Racou, or a ten minute drive from the promenade lined beach at Argelès-Plage. A tourist train runs throughout the day between the site and Argelès Ville, port and beach.

The Laboratoire Arago Aquarium in Banyuls-sur-Mer (6mls) is one of the oldest in France and exhibits rare fish donated by local fishermen. Explore the lighthouse at Cap Béar, the last lighthouse before the Spanish border - the views from the top are stunning.
