Campsite Domaine d'Oléron
Set amidst the peaceful woodland, this campsite is ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday.
Domaine d’Oléron is a peaceful, family-run campsite. Occupying a peaceful spot close to St Georges on the Ile d’Oléron, this makes an ideal destination for those looking for a relaxing holiday.
The emplacements are located amidst woodland, with some shaded by tall trees. There is plenty of space for relaxing at the side of the swimming pool, while children can enjoy the water slide and paddling pool. The friendly bar and takeaway are set in a poolside marquee, also the location for the evening entertainment in the height of summer. Children will also enjoy making friends at the playground. The island is a haven for cyclists – so why not hire bikes on site and explore the island's many cycle paths.
There is a Canvas Holidays courier on site.
Please note that some facilities and activities are only available during high season. Please check at the time of booking if there is an activity or facility which is crucial for your holiday.
The campsite is set between St Georges d'Oléron and St Pierre d'Oléron (both around a mile away). St Pierre d'Oléron is home to the main museum in the Island, offering an interesting insight into the islands history and culture. It is also home to the botanical gardens, Jardin Boutanques de la Boirie. The closest beach is at Boyardville, 1.5 miles away. It offers a broad sweep of golden sand and lovely views out to Fort Boyard.
Get a closer look at Fort Boyard from one of the regular boat trips which leave from St Pierre. The 'Petit Train' tourist train is a good way to discover the highlights of the island - it departs from St Trojan les Bains, a short drive from site. Also worth a visit is the Chassiron lighthouse at Chateau d'Oléron (12 miles).
A free beach shuttle is available in July and August.
